The II Mediterranean Forest Week 2011 will take place at the premises of the Palais des Papes (The Popes’ Palace) in the heart of Avignon.

How to reach the venue?

A detailed map of Avignon can be found here. The city center (intramuros) is on walking distance to the venue. Bus transport is also available, see the map and the website.

TRAVEL TO AVIGNON

The closest airports are:

By train
TGV (high-speed train) connects Avignon TGV Station with Paris, Charles de Gaulle airport, Lille, Nantes, Rouen, Metz, Montpellier, Genève, Bruxelles, Lyon, Marne la Vallée, Rennes, Toulouse, Strasbourg.
The regular train connects the Avignon Centre Station with other cities.

By car you may drive along the highways:
- A9 the "Languedocienne" (exit Remoulins)
- A7 the "Autoroute du Soleil" (exit Avignon Nord and Avignon Sud)

Passport and Visa

Participants should look, well in advance, for their visa needs for entering into the country. Should you need a letter of invitation for issuing the visa, please contact Ms. Mercedes Rois.

Travel and health insurance

Medical and travel insurance should be arranged by the participants.

Currency

The currency used in France is the EURO. The conversion rates can be checked at e.g. OANDA or INFOREURO
