Objectives

The objectives of the workshop are to:

(i) present the latest scientific knowledge on market based instruments and payments for environmental services both from the theoretical and practical perspectives

(ii) discuss similarities and differences between MBI and PES schemes, and establish a clear characterisation of these mechanisms,

(iii) provide new knowledge on the applicability of MBIs and PES to the specific problems in forestry.
