Poster presentations
This year, the EFIMED Week 2012 in Tunis is accompanied by a Scientific Seminar on "
Women making a difference. Women in science and innovation working towards sustainable natural resources management and governance in the Mediterranean region". The Seminar has a closed programme of oral presentations.
Researchers and practitioners working in natural resources management projects interesting in participating by sharing their studies and experiences with women's contribution to innovation and science could present a poster. They are encouraged to submit an abstract to EFIMED Secretariat (efimed(at)efi.int)
by 28 February 2012. Selected authors will be informed on due time.
The language of the abstract and poster may be English or French.
The maximum measure of one poster is 90cm x 150cm. They will mounted with clips or double sided tape.
There will be two types of posters:
- scientific posters: those presenting a research, showing the methodology and results; and
- project posters: those presenting an initiative of women and innovative approaches with natural resources management
Instructions for writing abstracts
Use text in Times New Roman, font size 11. Start by giving the title (centre) in bold. Then give the names of authors (last name, initials) in italics: list the presenting author first and then the other authors in alphabetical order. Type affiliation name and country below the author line. Indicate if different affiliations by numbering (superscript).
Type the paragraphs of the body text single spaced without any indents or tabs. Justified paragraphs. Single space between lines. Use one empty line between paragraphs.

Best Poster Award
BACKGROUND
EFIMED aims to improve the capacities of Mediterranean foresters, especially to those with higher potential.
The Scientific Seminar, held jointly with the Annual Meeting of EFIMED, is one of the main events of EFIMED for dissemination of the scientific knowledge on Mediterranean forestry and its advances.
In this framework EFIMED also offers a platform for researchers to present their projects through a poster. only the scientific posters will be eligible for this award.
EVALUATION PROCEDURE
The evaluation is delegated to the Advisory Group of EFIMED, which can appoint an evaluation panel composed of a few of its members. The evaluation panel will go through the different posters’ panels during the poster sessions. Authors are expected to be explaining them over there.
The poster will be selected on a competitive basis according to its abstract, content (scientific quality of text and graphic presentation) and the personal defense of its contents.
AWARD
The poster selected will be awarded with an
EFIMED Short Scientific Visit.
This EFIMED grant will allow the researcher to visit another Mediterranean forest research or education organisation during one week for further development of the presented work. This Visit will provide a unique opportunity to get involved in international level forest research and research co-operation.
The aim of the Short Scientific Visit shall be to contribute to the scientific objectives of EFIMED and to strengthen the EFIMED network by allowing him/her to: visit an institution in another Mediterranean country, foster collaboration and learn a new technique, use methods and tools not available in his/her own institution.
The Visit should take place between 1
st July and 10
th December 2012.
The Short Scientific Visit should last up to 5 working days with 2 days for travelling (inbound and outbound). Extra days won’t be covered by EFIMED.
