Award to the best poster
BACKGROUND
EFIMED aims to improve the capacities of Mediterranean foresters, especially to those with higher potential.
The Scientific Seminar, held jointly with the Annual Meeting of EFIMED, is one of the main events of EFIMED for dissemination of the scientific knowledge on Mediterranean forestry and its advances. The programme includes therefore keynote speeches by experts on the topics.
In this framework EFIMED also offers a platform for researchers to present their projects through a poster.
This year, the Annual Meeting 2010 of EFIMED in Antalya is accompanied by a Scientific Seminar on "
Knowledge base management of Mediterranean forests under climate driven risks: the ways ahead”. In this context through an open call for poster, abstracts were compiled and two sessions are planned during the coffee breaks for poster presentation.
In order to promote the best scientific quality of posters, EFIMED will award the best poster.
EVALUATION PROCEDURE
The evaluation of the candidates is delegated to the Advisory Group of EFIMED, which can appoint an evaluation panel composed of a few of its members.
The evaluation panel will go through the different posters’ panels during the poster sessions. Authors are expected to be explaining them over there.
The poster will be selected on a competitive basis according to its abstract, content (text and graphic presentation) and the personal defense of its contents.
AWARD
The poster selected will be awarded with an EFIMED Short Scientific Visit.
This EFIMED grant will allow the researcher to visit another Mediterranean forest research or education organisation during one week for further development of the presented work. This Visit will provide a unique opportunity to get involved in international level forest research and research co-operation.
The aim of the Short Scientific Visit shall be to contribute to the scientific objectives of EFIMED and to strengthen the EFIMED network by allowing him/her to: visit an institution in another Mediterranean country, foster collaboration and learn a new technique, use methods and tools not available in his/her own institution.
The Visit should take place between 15th May and 10th December 2010.
The Short Scientific Visit should last up to 5 working days with 2 days for travelling (inbound and outbound). Extra days won’t be covered by EFIMED.
